Michelle Newcomb, LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) is a mindful, trauma-informed psychotherapist based in Ventura, CA. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Northridge in 2010. She then obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University in 2013.
Michelle began her clinical work during graduate school, completing her traineeship hours at Valley Trauma Center (Northridge, CA), where she discovered her passion for serving those in greatest need. She dedicated many years to the public sector, ultimately working at Ventura County Behavioral Health as both a clinician and clinical supervisor.
Today, Michelle brings her extensive experience and trauma-informed approach to private practice, where she supports adults navigating life challenges with compassion, insight, and evidence-based care.
Michelle specializes in supporting adults who are navigating the impact of trauma (childhood, complex, acute, or vicarious) as well as mood challenges such as bipolar, anxiety, and depression. She also helps clients manage life transitions, whether becoming a parent, ending a relationship, starting a new job, or adjusting to a move. Michelle provides a compassionate space where clients can work through stress, grief and loss, and start moving toward healing, clarity, and resilience.
